About BactoTech
BactoTech is a microbiology and biotechnology company specialising in natural biopreparations for gardens, homes, agriculture and industry. Our formulations are based on carefully selected microorganisms, backed by many years of research, independent studies and practical field testing.

At BactoTech, we’re more than just a business – we’re a team of scientists, nature lovers, and advocates for better health from the ground up.
Our proprietary stabilisation technology allows us to offer high-concentration, non-GMO microbial products that work without toxic chemicals. These microorganisms support crops, improve plant growth and accelerate the biological breakdown of pollutants. Many of our products are approved for use in organic farming by the OF&G (Organic Farmers and Growers) in the UK and by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB) in Poland (EU).
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve soil health so that plants thrive, food becomes more nutritious, and people enjoy better health. We do this in honest collaboration with like-minded people, organisations and businesses, continually innovating to deliver high-quality microbial solutions, always guided by integrity and a commitment to quality in everything we do.

WHAT WE DO
We develop all BactoTech products in our own laboratories and test them under natural conditions to confirm their real-world effectiveness. Each batch is checked to exclude pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli, and our Biodrain Cleaners hold hygienic certification from the National Institute of Public Health – National Research Institute.
Key People
Prof. Maciej Walczak
Prof. Aleksandra Burkowska-But
MSc Marta May
MSc Artur Marczewski
Maciej studied biology at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, specialising in environmental microbiology. He is the author of several patents and over 150 scientific publications, including key work in environmental microbiology. His research has focused on the physiology of microorganisms and their interactions with each other and with the environment. For more than eight years he has concentrated on agricultural microbiology. In 2015, he became one of the founders of Bacto-Tech Sp. z o.o., a research company developing and producing biopreparations, including solutions for agriculture.
Aleksandra works at the Department of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, Institute of Biology, Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences. Her research focuses mainly on environmental microbiology, including microbiological air pollution (for example in graduation towers). She is the author of numerous scientific publications and the founder of the Nicolaus Copernicus University spin-off company BactoTech, which develops natural bioproducts for agriculture.
Marta holds an MSc in Molecular Biology with a specialisation in Biochemistry from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland. She completed a traineeship at the European Commission in Brussels (DG SANCO) focusing on public health and emerging health risks, and in 2022 gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Nutrition from the University of Chester in the UK. Her work centres on the connection between nature, nutrition and long-term health.
Artur brings a strong foundation in Environmental Protection, with a specialisation in Microbiology, also from Nicolaus Copernicus University. He completed a traineeship at the European Commission, working within the Research Committee on Nanotechnology at DG Research & Innovation.
