Microbial biopreparations support sustainable agriculture by enhancing soil fertility and biodiversity without the risks of over-fertilization or reliance on chemical fertilizers.
FabaStym is a microbiological biopreparation containing symbiotic bacteria specifically designed for seed and soil treatment of legume crops, including faba beans. It significantly enhances nitrogen fixation, improving soil fertility, crop quality, and yield. Ideal for sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture, FabaStym reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers while promoting robust plant growth. This innovative solution is perfect for broad bean species and other nitrogen-fixing pulse crops, supporting healthier plants and higher yields.
FabaStym
Microbial fertiliser product supplying easily absorbable nitrogen.

FabaStym is a precision-tailored microbial biopreparation designed specifically for legume crops like faba beans, peas, and lentils. Its core power lies in Rhizobium – a symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacterium that partners with legume roots to naturally supply the plant with essential nitrogen.
What makes FabaStym so unique is its ability to reduce or even eliminate the need for synthetic nitrogen fertilisers, helping farmers cut costs and improve soil health. Rhizobium forms nodules on the roots of legumes, where it converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form – feeding crops sustainably throughout the growing season. FabaStym supports stronger root systems, greener foliage, and higher protein content in harvested grains. By promoting biological nitrogen fixation, it also enhances microbial diversity in the rhizosphere, improving nutrient cycling and long-term soil fertility.
Because Rhizobium is sensitive to soil pH, moisture, and chemical inputs, FabaStym is formulated to deliver viable, effective strains directly to where they’re needed most – ensuring optimal nodulation and plant performance.
FabaStym is applied by seed coating or in-furrow application at sowing. Follow label instructions for crop-specific dosing and application method. It is best used in well-managed soils with suitable pH (6.0–6.8) and minimal chemical fertiliser interference.

FabaStym action:
- The symbiotic bacteria in the FabaStym range coexist with the root system of faba bean plants.
- Rhizobia are involved in the formation of nodules on the roots and provide assimilable nitrogen to the plant by fixing atmospheric nitrogen (N2 ) from the air and making it available to the plant in an assimilable form (NH4+ ), allowing a significant reduction in the use of nitrogen fertilisers.
- The efficiency of N2 fixation ranges from 200 to as much as 500 kg/N per hectare in one year, thereby increasing the amount of nitrogen in the soil available for plant successor plants.
- The symbiosis of rhizobia with faba bean plants has a beneficial effect on yield increase, high protein content of the seeds and plant resistance to stress caused by unfavourable environmental conditions.
- In addition, the formation of root papillae improves soil structure.
- Seed inoculation with rhizobia is recommended because the symbiotic bacteria of some faba bean crops (e.g. soybean, faba bean, lupin and others) are absent or very low in abundance in most soils.
