Cut synthetic nitrogen and still keep your wheat yield – is it possible? On our test field we reduced synthetic nitrogen by 50%, used Bactorol Nitrogen and BactoStym Nitro, and harvested the same yield as the control field, but with lower fertiliser costs. In this post we explain the trial and why we now suggest a safer 30% reduction for most farms.
Field results from Gezira, Sudan, show that RhizoForte (seed) and BactoRol (soil) biofertilisers increased sorghum plant and kernel height, expanded leaf area, and multiplied rhizosphere bacteria by around ten-fold under limited irrigation-evidence that targeted microbial inputs can enhance performance when water is tight.
